Default 2001 Gas Ezgo Starting Problem

My family and I were out for a ride and stopped to let the boys throw some rocks. When we started to leave I pressed the gas and nothing. I continued to keep pressing the gas over and over and all of a sudden it turned over and was running fine. We stopped again and the same thing happened again. I turned the key on and off several times and just kept on pressing on and off the gas and it started again. Any suggestions?

check your belt tension on your starter. I have seen them stretch and not have enough tension to start the eng.

it acts like the battery is dead and don't even turn over, but if you keep pressing on and off the gas pedal (10 to 20 times) it will turn over and start right up

Assuming you have a good battery I can think of three things off the top of my head.

First, the switch on the gas pedal might be going bad

Second, the soliniod

Third, the starter/gen

The first 2 you can check at the sol W/ a test light.

Of terminals A & B, one will be connected to battery pos the other to the starter.

Of terminals D & C, one will be 12v hot from the key through the pedal switch, the other ground.

If all that checks, the easiest way to quick check the starter is the next time it acts up, put the cart in nuetral and tap the starter with a hammer while stepping on the pedal.
