Default Battery light on dash?? 48v charger CC precedent.

I have a 2011 club car precedent. It has one year old batteries ,the OBC is already jumped out.
my power drives 3 charger acts weird it will charge the pack but it will also cut off and then throw the yellow battery light on that’s on the dash?
can anyone shed some light on this?
is it my charger just going out?
And is the light supposed to come on when the pack is fully charged?
everything I’m reading is saying it comes on of Voltage is two more batteries are bad.
but I know that’s not correct because the batteries all test good.

Thanks in advance..

How is it "jumped" out?

Yeah, that's not properly jumped out. If it was jumped (Bypassed) correctly the Powerdrive would not work correctly as it would never turn off on its own as the OBC is no longer controlling it.

It needs to have a jumper ran from the back of the charge receptacle right to B- at the controller or if you must, the Main Pack Neg. You also have to run the gray sense wire from the receptacle to the Neg to allow the Powedrive to start.

And remember, this is not correctly charging the batteries, it is just a bulk charge. If you want to make the batteries last, you need to get a smart charger to properly charge them.

Ok.
I guess I’ll try that out.

But if the cart has been ran all day and I hook it up,it charges for a long time. “I’m guessing”. Cause when I wake up and its finally off. That battery light on the dash is on. and I check the voltage in the mornings and I’m getting 53v[emoji2373]

Is that right?

Should it be higher?

And what brand smart chargers do you recommend?

Thanks.

If the OBC is still controlling the charger and it ran over 16 hours and timed out, the light will be on.

Ok so I Did the “bypass” and charger kicks on Immediately after you plug it in. I can leave it On all night and the amps never get below about eight on my charger.
what should my total battery pack voltage be?

also I bought this cart from someone who was trying to get it back together and never could. It had a new motor and the batteries that are in it are a year-old.
however I do believe they have never been used and are brand new since the guy couldn’t get the cart to run....

I have since then redid everything, all new battery cables New alltrax 500 controller.
the cart runs its *** off I will get up to 28 mph with four people in it.
I’m just wondering if the batteries need to be ran and cycled and charged a few times before they ever get fully charged. Or if maybe my charger isn’t up to par.

Thanks for any help

The charger cannot cut off because it has no controls since you have bypassed the OBC. 60-65 volts is all you want to go, but you will ruin the batteries this way because you are only bulk charging them. You need to get a smart charger or replace the OBC.
