95 ds barely moves
I picked up a 95 DS 48V series cart this weekend. The owner said it was running fine and just stopped. The cart has 2 yr old Trojan batteries. All batteries measure 8.3 after 12 hr rest. The solenoid would click but I measured high resistance across the two large posts so I swapped it out. I cleaned the vglide and check all connections. When you press the pedal with the cart empty it tries to creep forward or backward. Thoughts ?

Re: 95 ds barely moves
I just bought a cart with the same problem. Cheap! I found that the wiper switch had come loose from the frame. So when you stepped on the gas pedal it would just move the entire switch instead of functioning properly. Once I secure the Switch to the frame it worked perfectly

Re: 95 ds barely moves
Yes, one of two things. Wiper switch/pads have an issue or if that is good, you probably have a blown resistor on the back side that controls the throttle signal.

Re: 95 ds barely moves
Thank you for the replies. I checked/cleaned the wiper and pads. There is good contact and the wiper arm travels as it should. I will check the resistors next

Re: 95 ds barely moves
What is the serial number of that cart? The early 95's, prior to the CVP (Pot Box), was 0-5k ohms. They were the same style used on the earlier 36v carts..... (I am betting that you have that style (it would also have a Black controller))

Re: 95 ds barely moves
Yes it does have the black controller. The serial number is A9506424024. Long day at the office today, did not get a chance to check the resistors- vacation day tomorrow I hope to spend some time on the cart.

Re: 95 ds barely moves
That would confirm it.... So just be aware when you are checking the resistors and throttle that your signal will be 0-5k ohms and not 5k-0 ohms like the 3-wire throttles (MSP's) that came along shortly thereafter.

Re: 95 ds barely moves
Bought one just like it tonight. 1995 48v with v glide throttle. I think the 13 means 13th week of 95.
