Default 02 DS IQ VIOLENTLY shakes and stops

I have a 2002 Ds "AQ" cart, completely stock..

I just installed six new 8 volt Trojan batteries, I also had the stock controller rebuilt by FSIP.

Today I drove it for a couple laps around the park, and things seemed fine. Then I felt a slow down , while the pedal was floored. Thinking its a mcor problem, I turned the cart off, pumped the go pedal a bunch of times, and turned back on and drove fine.

So I am going to order an mcor. MEANWHILE, all of a sudden, the cart started shaking violently, and stopped. Won't run, batteries are new and fully charged.

What do you think is wrong?? I will change the mcor, but the shaking and stopping dead??? If it sits for awhile, it will try to drive again, shortly, but starts shaking so bad, it almost throws you around the seat?/

That's sounds like something bad has gone wrong in the motor.... The violent shake could only be caused by something heavy with momentum and only the motor comes to mind....

Don't overlook a brake problem...how long did the cart sit? Make sure you can push it easily...

Might also be loose cable.

Before I got it, it sat for about 6 months, at which time the batteries went bad.

I installed new batteries, and the rebuilt controller the other day. The cart then ran fine for the few laps I drove it around the park. Then I parked it, went back 30 minutes later, the the shaking thing happenened and the cart stopped.

I will relook at it this morning. I am hoping it is the solenoid, but will also look at the motor. Thanks guys for the input.

I will check back in later today. Meanwhile, any help and suggestions are appreciated.

IQ Cars don't typically shake unless there is a problem with the motor.

I was thinking maybe one of the power cables might not have a good connection. I'm just guessing

Anything is possible I guess, but with an IQ if the cable was loose and connection was lost, the car would have to come to a complete stop before going again. It wouldn't turn on and off to make it shake. I'm thinking there's a bad connection within the motor.

David thanks for the input. Today I tried the cart. At first it would drive a little, then shake and shutter.

I had a used solenoid, so installed that, and no difference, it stopped again and will not move. I planned on installing a new mcor conversion kit anyway, so will install the new one first, to see if it helps the shaking and stopping at all.

If not, I will yank the motor ( GE), and install a rebuilt motor. I got a local guy here that rebuilds them and exchanges in a one day turn around.
