cushman 22 hp help
needin a bit of help;
i have a 22 hp omc motor( plugs on top of cyl) the guy i bought it from said he had it running then the elbow on kehin carb was leaking so he loosend the distributor,he said clamps only at any rate i pulled carb replaced elbow with brass one,i lined up timing marks the one at 7 degrees not the 28 i put new plugs in gapped rite and i checked spark with a induction timing lite both sides good,i checked for power when points are closed no power,power at coils when points open,also cleaned and checked points set at 020 i cant get it to start when i checked plugs they were not wet, so i pulled carb and checked it is squirting gas to intake,any thoughts before i dump gas down intake tube ?lol thanks |

update on cushman i got it running!!! i had set timing with dist terminal pointing to bend in intake pipe like the online manual said, the stud needs to point straight out the side to drivers side,and i timed it from there and got my first ride!! cannot believe how well it runs and drives.
