Default 1995 295 Robin smoking

I have a 95 txt with a 295 Robins. It smokes when it starts/take off and decel. The carberator has been cleaned, oil level correct, I unhooked the breather from the air box and ran it to the ground to eliminate that, compression test showed 175&180. What's next? Valve seals?

Normally valve seals will cause an engine to smoke when first started. I would think maybe the oil rings were bad. How much oil is it using ?

I have had a couple customers with club car engines do that when the head gasket was bad. Turns out the heads were warped. Covered the surface in sharpie marker and put a piece of sandpaper on a plate of glass and went in a figure 8 pattern until the marker was gone. Never saw the carts again.

So this trick must've worked then?

Check your compression. Should be north of 150psi. I just had the same issue with my Robbins 295. I replaced the valve seals and guides and the rings. It’s perfect now
