Can I just buy the cradle for under $300?

The kit is complete, but looks to be $1000

We don't offer a mounting for those engines, but you can try the one we offer for the 23HP:

CPP:

Carrier to install 14-23 HP Vanguard engines and 18-24 Hp Honda. Should also work with Kawasaki, Kohler and the "clone" motors. Fits 1994-2010 EZGO TXT

So, this fit my MPT 1200?

I can tell you I used the same engine mount for the VC460 (clone), the 16hp Vanguard, the 23hp Vanguard, and the Predator 670, they all fit the same. My engine mount was slotted front to back to allow for different sized belts or to adjust the tension on the belt, made it super easy to work with.

It looked similar to this one. You could use this type of motor plate and just build a cradle to bolt it to. Or you could use a cradle that fits your cart and use this type of mount on it.

I can't tell you if the MPT1200 is the same as a TXT, but I'm sure it's close. A quick post in the "Ezgo Gas" section will get you your answer, the guys over there are fantastic and respond quickly. They helped me with my Jacobsen/Ezgo hauler/workhorse project.

Did you use the cradle and plate from VC?

Says it will work on Workhorse carts, but the model year concerns me:

Our Conversion Cradle and Motor Plate setup is FULLY ADJUSTABLE for belt tension and side-side clutch adjustment. This cradle is known to be compatible with all Honda GX620/GX670s and Briggs Vanguard V-Twin engines when used with a 95-06 EZGO TXT, Medalist or Workhorse Utility Vehicle.

I did but it was the older steel design. I made my own cradle/swingarm mount then bolted the Vegas Carts engine plate to it. Worked great.

Only one way to find out if it will work for you. Do you have any fabrication skills? If so, I'm 100% sure it can be adapted.....I mean, really anything can be modified to work, right? It might be close enough that all you have to do is some minor fab work.

When these swaps take place, the golf cart style starter generator is deleted, so the engine runs all the time?
