I might add, don't hit the nut with the hammer, use a half inch punch and hit the center of the shaft instead, using the threads of the nut above the shaft, to hold the punch in place.

But first, soak with penetrating oil over nite!

Then "Never Seize" the spline and thread on reassembly!! Light coat.

You many have a problem down below in the steering box, as to why the shaft raised.

i looked at the steering box.. but that's as far as it went.
lol.
i started to unscrew the Big screw that faces the opposite end of where the steering column enters, but i noticed oil starting to come out so i just closed it.

the steering itself is good, no snags and it turns smooth and freely.. its just the dang lip of the steering wheel itself that jumps around and occasionally gets snagged on the lip of the pipe...

I'll go out today and get the flat fixed then i'll pull the steering wheel off..

Not totally sure, but think I saw a nylon bushing just below the steer, when I had mine off. Good luck!

i got it off! its missing the bushing so i called tom and had him add it to my adaptor order.
