Default Offroad with NO lift

I have a 1989 Club Car 36v with no lift. Am I safe to go offroad with the stock hieght? I am worried about the electrics being exposed under the seat and brush or something pulling them out.

I also want to know how big of an offroad tire can you fit under a stock cart?

Thanks!

I was also wondering if I could fit a larger tire. I have 8 inch wheels now and was wondering if I could fit a 10 inch wheel.

Bottom line is it depends on how hard you drive it..... or your buddies drive it. They were made to drive in grassy fairways so they will get around. But their not very high so your not going to be hoppin logs or doing any real 4 wheelin with it. The sparkies are heavier so they don't float in mud or snow as well. I imagine you'll be able to get tires a couple inches taller than stock but too big & you'll have issues in a turn.

Stock carts typically take a 20" tall tire max without a lift kit. 18" is stock. Rim size has no definitive bearing on height. You can buy 22"x8 and 20"x10 tires and vice versa. Height is the key measurement. this is also what gives ground clearance. Half of the increase in size is under the axle lifting the cart up ... So a 4" taller tire gives a 2" increase in ground clearance.
Stock carts can do well on dirt trails but should not be used for all out no road off road use. Always be aware of what you are running over as sticks and rocks can damage the underside regardless of tire size.
I hope this helps.
