Default DCS motor armature

Will a DCS motor armature work in a PDS motor case? If so would any of the field coils have to be changed?

You ask a simple question that has a very complex answer.

If the shaft is exactly the same length and the armature is exactly the same diameter, than a DCS armature will physically fit in a PDS motor case.

A DCS motor has more torque and less speed than a PDS motor, so the relative magnetic field strengths of the armature and field windings and what kind of motor will result from the pairing is unknown.

Also, the field mapping in the controller will no longer match the motor, and the field maps cannot be changed in a stock PDS or DCS controller.

If you have an aftermarket controller that is programmable, you might be able to put both the DCS armature and field windings in a PDS motor case, then run the DCS map. You might be able to end up with a DCS motor with a speed sensor, which would be interesting if fed by a XCT48400-PDS controller, but you'd have to have a PDS cart wiring harness.

There may be other issue that didn't jump out at me.
