Default Would this work for me

If this will work on my cart with the xtc alltrax controller that would be a great way to lock it at a slower speed for the kids driving it. Can anyone tell me if it will. Also how hard is it to hook this thing up. I am thinking the first one is for my controller but you cant lock it like the navitas.

Ok after doing some research I obviously need the alltrax speed controller. I did find a thread that stated I could actually put a 3 position locking keyed knob in place of the knob on the speed controller. Know I just need to confirm this can be done and if it’s actually going to work or will my nephew just twist it till it breaks one goes into high speed mode.

I got the locking key switch from Scotty. It's 3 position, and each position selected you can remove the key.

Position 1=8 mph for grand kids.
Position 2=12mph for grandma.
Position3=26mph for me.

At first install the switch didn't work in one of the positions, but I sent it back to Scotty and he fixed me up. Would I do it again... you bet.

My set-up is with an Alltrax400 controller.

Later. PJay

Wish to add,.... what I was able to do to my cart with the key switch, Alltrax controller, and lap top with Alltrax controller software could not have been done without the guidance from Scotty, Nolefan, and Sergio.

I don't want to sound like "I" came up with this stuff.

Thanks to them!!

PJay.

Sounds like your nephew is not disciplined enough yet to drive your cart. He sure wouldn't be allowed on equipment here.

Good. Tell him to go work and build his own cart. No free rides in life.

Fast forward - we no longer produce the Mode Lock 3 since Alltrax started production of their FN-Key dongle. It works the same. My only complaint is the mounting. I wish they could engineer something more substantial & cleaner than 2 sided Velcro.

A couple of interesting notes on this programming.
1. You can program a cart lockout in position 1 (aka normal) by reducing both armature and battery amperage to zero. This is more secure than any lock, chain, and key. Nobody driving off with this cart without reprogramming the controller.
2. If the FN-kay is removed in a attempt to bypass or modify the controller will revert to position 1 aka normal.

So position normal should be either your lock out or kiddie speed setting. Hope this helps
2.
