Elec Motor Noise. armature rubbing field.
I have a problem I can not get resolved and I am out of ideas.
500 amp alltrax controller. Admiral MOT-B2. The motor on my 02 EZGO has a rubbing noise in it. When I took it apart you can see where the armature is rubbing one of the field windings. I have replaced the bearings on the input shaft and the input shaft on the trans axle but the rubbing is still there. The trans axle is smooth and the bearings in it are good. The rear bearing in the motor seems to be good, it is smooth as can be. There is very little slop in the splines between motor and input shaft. If it was a slop issue in the splines seems like the rubbing would be on all field windings? In the pics you can see the rubbing on the armature and the one field. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
