using a Regen OBC on a series conversion
i am wanting to convert my 1998 club car from a regen to a series cart. i bought a stock series controller/motor/solenoid/ F&R switch. i thought that would be it but i forgot about the OBC being different.(i want to have a OBC hooked up because of safety and having 3 small kids always at my feet and The Charger). would i need a series OBC and a wiring harness made for a series. i attempted to start wiring some of it from the manual diagram.....but i did not feel comfortable finishing and hooking up the batteries.

Re: using a Regen OBC on a series conversion
You need to buy a 101909901 OBC for a series car. There are far too many circuits running through a Regen OBC to try and simplify it for a series car.

Re: using a Regen OBC on a series conversion
David and I have discussed this cart in PMs more than once.
You would be better off getting a standard charger, eliminating the OBC and just run the power cord through the steering wheel for safety sake if you are concerned about driving off with it plugged in.... just my opinion |

Re: using a Regen OBC on a series conversion
Thanks alot for the replies....I will look around for a used one before buying a new OBC. Does the PowerDrive charger matter if it is a regen or series cart?

Re: using a Regen OBC on a series conversion
No you can use a Yamaha charger for that matter, anything that works without an OBC can be used, you may need to change the plug...
