Default ground strap on RPM limiter

I just un-hooked the ground strap on my 99 club car gas...
I was just wondering if anybody here has hooked up some sort of toggle switch instead of just un-hooking it? This way when the kids or some other idiot in the camp ground decides to take it for a spin they dont blow it up.

I'm considering something similar - as discussed here:

Please let us know how it works out. I still haven't ruled-out the possibility of buying the Xcelerator kit. I'm sure there's a market for my current clutches to help offset the cost, and I'm really not looking forward to a gear change.

Not a bad idea! I have the govenor disabled and tested the RPM limiter function - it works. I could add a hidden switch but I need to purchase a RPM gauge first (watching ebay for one). I believe the 287cc can handle up to 4200RPM safely? I use premium fuel and Mobil 1 syn 10-30. Since I did some adjustments on the throttle cable, new belts, plug, filters the cart runs great! It is a 99 DS.
