Question about my solenoid
Hello,
I have a 2000 Gas Club Car Carryall 272 i just recently purchased. I am having problems with the solenoid rapidly clicking when i push the pedal down. The solenoid starts the motor fine and when i push the pedal down to keep the motor running the solenoid keeps clicking. Is this normal on this type of cart? I have charged up the battery and all the connections are clean and tightened. i am getting 12.3 on the battery. |

Re: Question about my solenoid
Hmmm I'm not sure it's normal. Usually when you push the pedal and the solenoid rapidly clicks it's because the battery voltage is too low. If you can put another one in and see what happens

Re: Question about my solenoid
Yeah... i have had solenoids click fast when the battery was too low but when it did that the motor never fired over and ran. Are you saying replace the battery or solenoid?

Re: Question about my solenoid
I would replace the solenoid, but do a load test on your 12v battery to see it's condition anyway

Re: Question about my solenoid
Are you saying the engine starts, runs, and while running the solenoid continues to click rapidly?

Re: Question about my solenoid
Clean your connections. Likely bad contact on ground wire.

Re: Question about my solenoid
I have cleaned all the connections good and tightened down. I changed the solenoid out for a new one and still the same problem. I have tested all the wiring and all is correct...I have not ran a load test on the battery... i only charged it up. It's reading 12.3

Re: Question about my solenoid
12.7 is full charge on battery. With cart running you should read over 14 volts at battery

Re: Question about my solenoid
How is it running IE no hesitations, jerkiness, etc? I had a TXT with a pedal microswitch that couldn't just go "bad" like they usually do, that one would kind of "pulse" and kept clicking the solenoid, but the cart ran rough and even though it was driveable it was kind of "twitchy" ...
