Arked Motor, now will only move 1 inch. What next??
Hello everyone. I have a 2008 Club Car Precedent. I was installing some HD leaf springs last night. Foolish me forgot to but the car in TOW mode and accidentally hit the A1 F1 on the motor together with a wrench resulting in a spark.
After i got everything put back together to cart tries to move then stops after 1 inch. I'm guessing I've fried the controller. Thoughts? So far I have: -Tied A1,F1 and A2, F2 together. I hooked a battery to A1 and A2, the motor spins the wheels. - The selenoid clicks. I checked for continuity between the small and the large terminals when engaged. The controller i have is a Curtis 1510A-5251. If i do need a new controller, what would you guys suggest? The motor has been upgraded to allow more torque and speed. Stock controller and selenoid as far as I know. Motor was shipped off by the prior owner so i have no way to know what the exact specs are. Thank you all for the advice, I really appreciate it. |

Curtis 350 amp controller, is plug and go. You will like it and it fits right where your old one is.

Lift kit = big tires, maybe a rear seat and hills. We should know these things to give an educated recommendation of which control will be a good fit. |

Rear Seat. No big tires or lift kit. It may be a possibility in the near future. 90% road use, I pull a dual axle trailer with it to my back yard. Eastern NC, no really big hills.
I saw where i could sent off the stock one to get rebuilt for around $200. If its not a whole lot more i'd rather get a new one that would serve me for years to come. I was looking at the Alltrax xct400iq but i'm guessing I would need a new solenoid. |

Rebuilds are not a good idea. You want a high torque solution if you are pulling a trailer around.

It probably didn't matter that the run/tow was in run. You should have disconnected the batteries. Then it wouldn't have happened.

I took apart the controller. The only thing that burned was one resistor and one transistor. Any ideas who would carry these parts and if its doable by a novice?
Disappointing one ark can destroy a $400 part. |

With all these guys upgrading to bigger controllers, I am willing to bet that someone has a used controller to sell you cheap.
