Default Loose wire on 93 Marathon, where does it go?

I have a 93 Marathon with the robin engine. It was cutting out on me, and after extensive investigation I believe I have traced it to a white wire that comes from under a plate attached to the motor. The wire comes out where the other wires that are connected to coil. the wire is white and it yoiu can get it in just the right place it runs fine.

The wire was just hanging therre with a female plug on it and I dont see what it is supposed to be plugged into.

Any Ideas before I start taking stuff apart?

Thanks in advance.

I am sure that white wire is in fact a red herring. On models fitted with an oil pressure lamp that wire will run to one side of the lamp. However it is the ground side so if it is open or short it will not affect your ignition. More likely is the fact that in that area is a two pin plug and socket which is the output from the pulsar. Tugging on the white wire might be making a connection. If you remove the air box you will see the connector more easily. Take it apart, examine it and give the contacts a shot of WD40. I bet you will be cured.

I have a 93 with the 2-stroke, and no white wire on mine. I guess Robin is a misnomer as it was used on both models of engine - WTH, you a 2 or a 4 stroker.
