Default any big advantage going to 8 six volts

Is there any big advantage going to 48 volts with 8 bats. I should add that I have a 2000 ezgo, but have upgraded motor, controller, and solenoid. All of which can handle a 48 volt system.

Eight 6V batteries will give you about 25% more run time than six 8V batteries.

The 2 extra batteries give you about 110 pounds of extra lead which amounts to a 20 % increase in amperage storage capacity. My #s could be off a bit but you get the idea

What's the best way to locate the two extra bats?

This is not a good picture, but shows you how I did it. Works great.

I can't tell cable size by the pictures but it looks to be a #6 or even 8ga battery cables?? If this is true, you should upgrade to 4ga welding cable for battery cables. You can make your own. If they are already upgraded, excuse my vision....

Is the 2 extra batteries worth the weigh in extra voltage/power to speed up the cart. I know with extra storage capacity the run time will increase about 20% as said in the about post. I'm capable of adding the 2 extra batteries...got all necessary upgrades...I'm just kicking it around...will it be worth it. My cart is modded but not lifted 36V.
