Lift Kit/Oil level
I just installed a Jack 6 inch lift kit. So now I am wondering how much oil is needed, seeing that the Vegas 460 motor is at a slant now. Do I leave it at it's normal oil level or do I need to compensate for the slant?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
Same amount of oil is needed. It is a good idea to jack-up rear of cart until engine is level then check/fill oil. Even better idea is to drop front of engine cradle so it sits more level (very hard to get full level)
Depending on which cart you have there are solutions here that members have come up with and Vegas Carts sells drop brackets for certain carts. You should really consider leveling the VC460. It is a fantastic race engine that relies heavily on the oil splash for cooling. |

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
Yeah it's a club Cart DS I just it seems like the motor mount is extremely low I'm taking that's common when swapping out the rear end and motor mount

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
Post #92 and #183 have pictures of ways to lower front of cradle.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/big-b...p-more-10.html I think I needed to lower throttle control box to make it all work. It was pretty easy to lower and there are pictures on the same thread |

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
It took me a couple tries to get the engine square with the transaxle and have proper slack on the belt. Runs smooth now. I think the final drop on the front was 2 1/2". The lift blocks I got with the Jake's LT kit were angled so I had to grind them a little to compensate for dropping front.

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
Cant you make a tapered wedge out of steel that fits between the motor and mount and gets you back to level?

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
Managed to drop down the motor mount 2 inches but still doesn't seem like it's far enough I used longer bolts and spacers so I hope that'll be okay. also now I'm having clearance issues with the air filter

Re: Lift Kit/Oil level
I dropped my engine cradle in front 2" after I put my lift on in 2013. Been plenty enough for me and my carts gets alot of use. It's a 1987 Club Car with the stock motor. I just used a piece of square steel and two longer bolts to lower mine. What year is your cart?
