What is a good price for my first EZGo TXT hunting project?
I'm looking to buy my first golf cart for use on our ranch.
I'm looking to get something that I can upgrade but runs right out of the gate. I'm looking at a lifted 2011 EZGO 48V TXT that includes AT tires, 2014 Trojan batteries, 2 chargers and LED lights with a DC-DC converter. The price is $2600. Good deal? What should I look for when I test drive? |

Ok...different question. What should I be looking for in a good cart? I want to eventually convert it to having a rear seat to cart the kids. Would also like it to fold down to a flat bed.
There is one pretty steep hill on the property, but other than that pretty flat but unpaved. Thanks! |

Im not really qualified to answer your question but from reading on here alot in the last few days I have come to the following conclusions.
If you are going to lift a cart and put big tires on it, you will get more speed but will loose torque. To help with that you can get a higher amp controller to increase the torque but you will sacrifice top speed. Also if you get a higher amp controller you should upgrade your cables and solenoid to handle the amps. - Also, Trojans are the "benchmark" batteries all others are measured against. - 48v carts are better then 36v carts. - One of the first upgrades you should do is 2ga wiring. |

For the ranch a series cart would be best. You can tow a small trailer and climb hills and sneak slowly around to enjoy wildlife. I can’t remember if all txt48’s are series on not. Look in the stickies to determine which one it is. Look at the frame for more than light surface rust.
Price sounds ok but your going to need batteries soon, 1 to 3 years if they were not abused and kept charged. If you like it go for it and fix her up. Welcome to the addiction! |

The 48 volt txt is a good cart but 14 batteries are probably going to be tired. $2600 with the options list is not bad.

So would you choose 48V over a 36V series?

I have a sepex cart and I use it all around my place. I use a 4x8 small trailer for picking up limbs and taking them to the burn pile. I have a torque motor and can do anything. I was warned about having the foot on the gas and barely moving as it can heat the motor and cause a failure. You can make up a temperature meter if needed.
