Default Alltrax DCX500 Install

My son and I completed the install- late last night of a new DCX500 PDS that Santa brought me. We initially had the diode reversed and the controller went through initial diagnostics fine- ended up with a solid green LED. When we jumped in for a spin, the cart lurched but stopped and the LED went off.
I found a post here (from scottyb- Thanks by the way!) that listed the correct diode install and we had it opposite. After we switched it, off we go .

Can I say 'SWEET'! Not much top end speed improvement but the torque you feel when you hit the accelerator is a huge improvement over stock! I'm taking the beast to the woods tonight for New Years Eve and will report later.

Here is my 2006 EZGO PDS' new specs:
Alltrax DCX500PDS limited to 80% output (purchased for future upgrades)
MZJ400 36V Solenoid
3 amp diode
220 ohm pre-charge resistor
2 Gauge Cables throughout
Stock Motor

I'll post pictures after I 'pretty' the install with wire ties etc...

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone on BGW!!!

Good Job. I'd like to see pic's of your setup. I just did the same install on my 07 PDS. Also would like to here your report after the woods trial. I haven't got to play with mine yet.

Pictures as promised. I'm very pleased with my controller upgrade from stock to the DCX500 especially the additional torque. I spent most of New Years Eve in the woods in lots of rain & mud- my stock controller would have stopped from thermal overload more than once last night.
The beast chugged through the mud without a hitch .

I mounted my run-tow switch temporarily with zip ties. I really like the mount that you built- very cool! I'll probably end up using a piece of aluminum angle. Thanks!

KC- I'd like to have it if you're willing to part with it.

How are you fabricating this stuff are you using a mill or some kind of router set-up? Very professional looking stuff!
