Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
See the image below. I'm installing an EPOCH battery system and need a little help.
I've got the batteries mounted & data cable installed. So far so good. My question is the wiring already in the cart. I've numbered them below. #1 is just the cart power. I got that sorted. #2 is confusing; I removed the old plug and cables but this wire was connected via harness to a blue wire coming from the plug guts. Is this the ignition wire? I'm not sure if I need to connect it back or where. #3 is the only other wires left; I assume they're the 12v wires for the headlights and simply need to connect to the 48v/12v adapter wires. What am I missing here? I'm hoping this picture explains everything. Also I'm not sure where I'm going to fit everything; is there anyone who has done a conversion of their TXT who care to share where they mounted: - the busbar - the voltage converter - the charger Also anyone know of a good techinque for removing the riveted charging port cleanly? Will that NOCO port cleanly replace the existing port after I rip it out? Just run the screws through the plastic cart housing? |

Re: Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
#2 is the charger Interlock. In a stock system, when the charge plug is unplugged, it puts voltage on that wire which either sends a signal to the controller that charger is unplugged and the controller activates the solenoid or starts a series of manual switches that activate the solenoid.
This disables cart when charge cord is plugged in. You need pack voltage positive on that wire. However, doing this will eliminate the charger interlock and cart will run with charger plugged in. Drill the rivets out, they are soft and usually come out very clean, just use a small drill bit to drill the center out of the rivets |

Re: Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
Thank you! Got the rivets out but the old plug opening is way bigger than the NOCO. Any suggestions? I may just grab a piece of sheet metal and drill a 2" circle in the middle

Re: Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
You could also put the old plug back in (screw or rivets) and do something like the attached pics

I like that idea. I might just do that.

Re: Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
I cut out piece from a 1/8 abs plastic panel and made the mount. I think I paid $8 on Amazon for the panel.

Re: Help! EZ-GO TXT wiring questions
Thanks! Just ordered. That's exactly what I needed. I'll cut out the original plug and use new screws and mount that on the other side
