convert old EZ GO to lithium
I gots a chance on buy on an old 36 volt, EZ Go cart.
What would it take in $$$, to convert the cart to Lithium power? And I like going fast - 30 mph. I've got no problem installing disk brakes. Street use only, never used on a golf course, and no hills, all paved flat streets But, it needs to survive being left in a garage, all summer in Phoenix. I would appreciate your thoughts, OR is this a bad idea? Thanks, Dave |

Re: convert old EZ GO to lithium
Definitely doable, but converting to 48v first will help greatly with speed.
The hot garage issue will shorten the life of the battery but this can be mitigated somewhat by storing the battery at a low state of charge, less than 50%. The lower the better but you need to make sure you don’t run it down completely. Disconnecting from the cart and storing at 30%-40% would be your best option. |

Re: convert old EZ GO to lithium
I just converted my 2008 36v Ezgo to 48v Eco Battery 105ah lithium with a Navitas AC motor and controller. It went from barely climbing a hill to popping wheelies haha
