Re: Precedent 2008.5 DIY Lithium build
Sorry about the links. I tried using the forum tool instead of pasting. If anyone wants one, just let me know. Augiedoggie, what prismatic cells did you go with?

Re: Precedent 2008.5 DIY Lithium build
Its interesting that you chose the big bms vs just buying the headway option with the relays and fuses still attached and using a 30a bms to control those.. that would effectively bring the build cost down to less than $600 completed with shipping. of course you would lose the bluetooth and cell monitoring capability which I guess would also defeat your purpose of setting the low state of charge threshold.

Not sure why I can't edit my earlier post... Here is the holy battery (all genuflect)! There used to be a terminal there. It's surprising how much lighter this one felt!

One issue with the Beast pack for golf cart use is you really need to remove all the cells and test them individually. Since you have to take the whole thing apart, it's not a time-saving to go with the original design. The other issue is the contactor is set for 36V max.I've debated using a small BMS to control it with the BMS feeding the 48-12V converter and the contactor tied to the 12V fuse block, and will try that in a future build. |

Re: Precedent 2008.5 DIY Lithium build
Progress made:
Discovered an upgraded(ish) motor from previous owner, Admiral MOT-A2. http://https://www.revolutiongolfcar...or-club-car-iq (Random links from sites I don't know that have more details. Support BGW sponsors!) https://evdrives.com/admiral-mot-a2-...lus-precedent/ Solenoid is only 2 years old (was installed by current owner). http://https://www.albrightinternational.com/products/su60/"]http://https://www.albrightinternational.com/products/su60 Stock Curtiss IQ controller. (Sorry for blurry pic) I've never had to do an OBC bypass/removal. Looking forward to it! http://https://www.ultimatecartparts...CON-CT203.aspx Tub needs to be cleaned. Dagnabit, I still can't get the hyperlink tool to work! Last edited by Bbbbrass; 03-31-2023 at 10:59 AM.. Reason: urls |
