Tire/Wheel Setup
Hi there,
My old EZGO cart is in need of some new tires (current ones all leak). Previous owner had 22x11x10's on the rear and 22x7x10 up front. I don't really care what the cart looks like. Its a utility cart I use around my property. SO I just need something that is function over form. Any suggestions. Here is a picture of what the cart looks like now. Just need a good tire size and brand suggestion for driving around on dirt roads and whatnot. |

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
I like aggressive tread, they don't pick up rocks and cake up with mud btw the tread, GBC Dirt Devils for me.

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
Surplus center currently has a great deal on some remaining sets of these tires and wheels… they are smaller in front but it’s hardly noticeable. They are mounted on nice wheels with a 4”x4” bolt pattern already.

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
Thanks for the responses. I have a 4" lift.. wondering if I should put 22's on it all around or go with 20's. My motor seems tired.. maybe 20's would give it a good break. Thoughts?

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
I agree with LukeL in that Surplus Center has a great deal right now. I bought two of those exact sets which will allow me to either run both rear sets or have a complete extra set of rims and tires ready to go. Tire sizes are 21x7-10 on the front and 22x9-10 on the rear.
I haven't used them yet so I can't attest to the durability of the tires. What style of tire are you looking for? On-road or off-road? |

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
Go with the 22's if you can fit them, more sidewall allows more flex, makes for a little better ride. Plus the extra ground clearance never hurts when off road. I tend to like atv tires like the Carlisle 489's, but really any of the all terrain golf cart tires are fine for normal light off road use. I don't like super stiff sidewalls due to low flex and stiff ride, and I'm not a fan of anything over 4 ply unless you roll over large rocks and sticks that might puncture.

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
Just curious as to whether these would work on a TXT?

Re: Tire/Wheel Setup
I see no reason they wouldn't bolt up, other than possibly not clearing the rear brakes if the wheel isn't big enough or wrong offset, bolt pattern is right... Not pretty but you already said you don't care about that.
