Default Cleaning the frame before painting

Pulled my cart apart to get the body painted. I need to clean the frame etc before I paint it. What is a good way to protect the controller from water when I clean around it.
Thanks
Mike

When you paint, use Por 15, that stuff is bulletproof when applied correctly.

Don't waste your time with water, as the sandblasting will remove the dirt effortlessly.

A needle scaler works very well for removing rust and flaky powderpaint in preparation for paint.

Thanks everyone. Very little rust except under one of the side batteries. Mainly trying to remove 12 years of campground dust and dirt.

Small wire wheels in your drill work well, just use safty glasses.

I’m not a fan of the powder paint that they use. If you get a scratch or nick in the paint, it allows moisture (water) to get between the paint and metal promoting even more rust. Use a putty knife to scrape anywhere the rust is or the paint is flaking off.
