Re: Planning Engine Swap
Moved the engine back a tad and tightened the Spring on the F/R/N bracket near the axle
Also needed to adjust the choke a tad and the carb idle There's a little pop at shut down but I assume that's because the fuel shut down solenoid on the carb isn't wired up I did two laps around my subdivision and it ran good and smooth with no issues |

Re: Planning Engine Swap
I wish there was a set deflection amount for the drive belt
Moving it back 3/4" worked, but the belt seems to have alot of deflection now |

Re: Planning Engine Swap
Some say 1" and some say 1-1/2"
I'm going to keep adjusting it and playing around and see how dialed in I can get it IMHO, the tech at VC is lacking |

Re: Planning Engine Swap
I wouldn't be too hard on VC. They tell you their kit is not compatible with ezgo MPT series. At least that's what the website said.

Re: Planning Engine Swap
Whole lot of differences on what belt you use. The super high HP sled belts act a lot differently than the more stock cart like belts. There is a lot more surface area there. Even in the Dayco line the single cogged HP then the double cogged HPX and up to the super double cogged XTX they all act differently because of the way they sit in the clutches and react to change in pulley width.

Re: Planning Engine Swap
I was pretty pleased with the 20 minutes of road time in the cart today

Re: Planning Engine Swap
I'm going to crunch some numbers and see what this project cost and subtract all the funds from the sale of stock parts

I got to say one thing about your work. You don't give up very easy. We need a video of you driving it and listen to what it sounds like. |

Re: Planning Engine Swap
Another option is the 20hp conversion
New dual bowl carb and intake manifold Maybe a header and the aftermarket push rods and springs...... I'll see how it does this summer first |
