Default Re: Continuation of Lithium Battery not living up to standards

Balance is not the problem here guys. Yes it is a problem and has been a problem for the OP, but not in this case.

To be specific, the OP removes the batteries and charges them in parallel using a 12v charger. At this time they are correctly top balanced. They are discharged ONCE and will not recharge in their 48v configuration afterward. They need to be removed again and recharged using the 12v charger. They should not go out of balance after just one discharge.

This is most likely a faulty 48v charger.

The Noco 4 port charger is my recommendation for series connected 12v batteries. The outputs are isolated so the batteries don’t have to be disconnected from their 48v series connection. It’s not cheap but it’s the only long time solution to this problem.

Thank you Pat911, I did a thorough inspection of the charging system on the cart and located a bad ground wire in the OBC area. The wire had corroded enough to seperate. I reconnected the cable and all is now back to as normal as you can get in this series configuration. I thank all of you for your assistance!!

Cheers!!

Great that you are back and carting! My apologies, I misunderstood that it was occurring after only one discharge. Glad Pat got you sorted!
