Default Upgrade Ideas - Fleet 2018

Been a member since 2015 and been using the site to fix up my project carts but I purchased a house to flip today and inherited a 2018 48v EZGO TXT Fleet (2 seater) that was left by the previous owner. Since I've never owned anything this new I thought I would ask before I messed something up.

I'm looking for recommendations for upgrades on this cart. I'm having trouble finding accessories that say they will work on this late a model. I would like to put on a rear seat but I can't find a seat to match the color its gray, some lights (none of the kits say they are for 2018 ) and maybe make it a little faster. As far as I can tell its 100% stock except it has a USB charger on it

Thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of it? I’m guessing the parts are mostly compatible with the TXT48’s from recent years.

I recently did a 2016 TXT48 and it used a lot of standard (‘95-‘13) TXT parts, even though they don’t tell you that. The dash kits for an old style TXT work if you swap the cup holder insert, the old style brush guards work, and a few other things. The light kits are specific to the body style but the 2018 might be the same as the 2016?

BTW I also couldn’t find a matching gray seat.

Luke

The 1206HB-5201 controllers used in the TXT48 starting in 2010 are programmable to a degree. We typically enable Freedom mode, turn it up an additional 5% in speed beyond that(a bit over 20 MPH with stock tires), and add 28% more torque. You can mail the controller to have this done. Get a few more posts in and send a PM to usgicollector if interested.

The 2014-2018 style body is all the same then. An LED light kit like the one I used should work.

Do you remember which one you used? Does it have a switch for brake lights also?

I will absolutely do that - do you also recommend an cable upgrade for this unit?

I always recommend high current DC cable upgrades. 2 guage is recommended. 4 guage is acceptable. The larger you go, the less loss is incurred. In other words, more power makes it to the motor to drive you along, and less power is wasted in heating up those cables.

Not sure what’s with the 2015 “down” but this is what I used in a 2016 and it was fine. The template was super tricky though.
