95 Club Car 48V clicks but won't move
Batteries only 6 months old, I did have a cable fail recently, replaced that, couple days later cart wouldn't move (just clicks), came back 1 hour later, everything was okay, charger is working properly as far as I know, played 36 holes, brought cart home, recharged, hasn't worked since. I did not have a volt meter at home last night, but with a test light I seem to have adequate power at solenoid (both large terminals). What's wierd is that my test light is bright when testing from #6 negative terminal to chassis of cart??? That doesn't seem right to me, do I have a short somewhere?? Thanks in advance for any help.

You have a 48v test light? That's rare.
Likely you have another bad cable end ? Sounds like you may have another bad cable end or without battery pack voltage readings we can't rule out a battery problem. |

Thanks Scotty, I actually have an old 24V test light, figured I'd risk burning it out since it hasn't been used forever, I'll check readings tonight with an actual voltmeter.

If you can give us the standing voltage and a reading on the pack when you try to go...
You either have have a solenoid that is only clicking; not making the contacts, a bad controller; not putting voltage out, or a bad F&R or high amp cable connection. |

Re: 95 Club Car 48V clicks but won't move
Just got home, not sure where to take these voltage readings, experienced auto mechanic, not so much on electric carts! Volt meter shows over 9V on individual batteries, 51.7V key on on & go on solenoid terminal that goes to last battery. What do you mean by pack voltage? Where should I measure that?

BTW, at the motor (terminals you can see from top), passenger side 57.8V, driver's side 27.5V?

Battery pack voltage.... the sum of all the batteries together. Should be 48-51v measured at the main + and main -

That last post was with key off on those readings, don't know if that means anything or not, thanks again for taking the time to help a novice.
