Simple Battery Charge Indicator ?
OK you guys have been terrific. You have answered all my questions on my 36 volt 85 CC and it is running like a charm. all rewired and really reliable. Now my Daughter bought me a charge indicator and I am hoping to install it this week. It is 36 volt led and I am hoping I have the right way of putting it in.
I understand the pos and neg terminals, but under those are 2 more terminals that just have a R on them. Both are lableled that way. Now if I bought this one I would have just returned it. However My 9yo begged the wife to get this one off amazon and it has no intructions for the 2 R labled blades. Any Ideas? I just really want to have her see it work... |

Re: Simple Battery Charge Indicator ?
You know it is a crap shoot. 2 terminals one is positive, one is negative.... get em right and whalla! voltage readings..... get em wrong and poof ! No meter!? So no directions ... the question is ~ is it reverse polarity protected.........or not? Who's gonna roll the dice? Clip one wire on... okay your committed. Take the other wire and give the second terminal a drive by, you know, a swipe. Real quick like. Pass the the second wire by the other terminal in a swiping motion.... any spark? No? try it slower? no? Try holding it on? Any reading? no? try reversing them....... good luck!

But there are the 2 other blades. I understand the pos and Neg. But what about the other 2 marked with a R?

I'm sorry I have no idea what meter you have. Maybe somebody else will chime in who knows.

A pic of your meter or a link to the listing where you bought it may help?

Re: Simple Battery Charge Indicator ?
Is this an amp meter if so by putting different resistors across the terminals gives you different ranges, mA / Amp Ill bet its a digital panel meter. Picture please
