'96 TXT diode orientation?
I have no doubt this has been asked and answered but my search skills are sorely lacking today.
Do I have this installed the correct way? I didn't get a very good picture of the one being replaced because it was all kinds of nasty and it was missing a good chunk of it. Apologies for asking something that has been answered. I'll try to work on my searching skills. The stripe is to the left in this picture. The mounting "feet" for the heatsink are down in relation to the pic as well. |

Re: '96 TXT diode orientation?
The stock solenoid is non-directional. The small + wire can go on either small post. The banded end of the diode goes towards the + wire.

I think I'm following you. If I let the smoke out, I'll know I did it wrong. :)
Thanks. |

Re: '96 TXT diode orientation?
I think I got the diode and resistor right. No smoke.
My problems now appear to lie elsewhere. If anyone recalls my Basketcase thread, it appears this one is just a newer and more screwed up version. I've got my work cut out for me here. I've come to the conclusion the seller had to know exactly how screwed up this cart really is. For example, so far I have found where their "repair guy" used 3" lag bolts (to hold the front plastic, and one ran into a shock), 3" machine screws (to hold the metal mat trim plates), cheap Pep Boys connectors, and there is a random roofing nail in there. The cart also came with 2+ cockroaches, at least one ant colony, loads of rot and plenty of rust. This one deserves its own thread, no doubt. |

Re: '96 TXT diode orientation?
I just answered in the other post. Most every time I've done this, we all have, it blows the pedal switch.
