Default Using Your cart to Jump start another vehicle ?

My Brother in Law said he tried to use his cart to jump off his tractor but it wouldn't work. I would only do this if it was a emergency but his cart is more for working on his 25 acres, shouldn't you be able to get enough volts to start a 12v system ? Maybe I'm not thinking right about it !!!!

We need more info to help...the first sentence "My Brother in Law said he tried to use his cart to jump off his tractor but it wouldn't work. " I don't understand which vehicle needed a jumpstart...the tractor?
And second we don't know what kind of cart your BIL has. Is it electric or gas? If electric then what voltage?

Yea, it'll work. I've done it several times. One thing you have to realize is cart batteries are not starting batteries....in other words they do not discharge quickly. You might try leaving it on longer. I have even jumped up to 18 volts on older equipment that will handle it....I would never do it on something that has an ECU though.

I also have an inverter. I can use the carts battery pack to run power tools out in the feild somewhere. It comes in handy at work out at the steel rack. Instead of rolling up a torch hose, roll the bottle dolly over all the rocks and then cutting a small peice of steel then roll it all back up and back into the shop I will take the cart, inverter and a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut small peices.

We do it when we have to at the golf course. I run a jumper cable from the positive pole on the tractor battery to the positive post nearest the controller. Ground the other jumper anywhere on the tractor or the neg post. jump to the second battery that is in series and connect to the its neg terminal. This will give you a 12v circiut.
When I jump my tractor, I run pos directly to the starter and ground to the stepup bolt. Then I don't have to take apart the tractor to get to the battery to jump.
