2003 D.S. 48volt
We got this "03 lifted D.S. on a trade. I bypassed the OBC as per yalls instructions; put 6 new T-875's and cables; new solenoid. Had a Powerwise 3 charger that came with it. It charged all night last night w/out shutting off. Pack was noticeably WARM when I lifted the seat. Pack voltage was only 51.
My question(s): (1) Should the powerdrive 3 shut off auto with obc bypassed? (2) The cart is taking off strong then gets weak, especially uphill. Is this a speed sensor problem? (3) Do I need to get a DPI from Scottie for this cart? That's all for now. I thank you all in advance for your help. I am a welder and chicken farmer that had to start wearing the golf cart mechanic hat. |

No the charger will not shut off with the OBC bypassed. Without the OBC, the charger is 'dumb'. The batteries need to be properly broken in to attain optimum performance. You really need to figure out your charging problem first. You may have a bad OBC if the charger didn't work before you bypassed it. A DPI is a great way to replace the OBC system.

Re: 2003 D.S. 48volt
Question #2 in my original post about starting off strong then get weak........ do I have a speed sensor problem? I did Tahoedawg's test and I cant tell if I'm getting resistance when I push the cart. The beeper does sound off, however.

Re: 2003 D.S. 48volt
You'll definitely feel resistance if it's working properly. Best way to test is find a steep hill, let your foot off the brake, and see if the cart attempts to slow itself.
