Alltrax 500 amp controller help for EZGO series TXT
I am considering a used AXE 4855, it is a 2004 model, a lot less $$ that a new one, I noticed the software for this one is different from the new AXE's, should I be concerned about this? It does not have the plug brake option, but I am considering disk brakes.

Re: Alltrax 500 amp controller help for EZGO series TXT
Thanks Guys,
I believe I can get it for less than $300. It is a 2004 model, so I believe the software is the older version, is that a big deal? Also, I read somewhere (I believe it was on the Alltrax site.) that the plug brake option allowed you to put the cart in reverse to help stop it, because if you put the cart in reverse without this function, it could and probably would damage the controller & motor. Are the stock controllers this way? If I put the cart in reverse while moving forward with the Curtis controller, could it damage it? Not that I have needed to do this, just wondering. Thanks |

Plug braking is ancient forklift technology that somehow crept forward into golf carts. It isn't recommended, it isn't smart, and it is destructive. You don't want it.
