Default 97 regen cart...I HATE REGEN BRAKING!!

OK..i love my golfcart it goes good uphill, and flat ground but the regen braking is making me a little pissed off . So i want to know the ways for taking off regen braking on a 1997 club car regen 1 cart. Can i cut a wire or put in a speed controller or sometthhin?? thanks for the helpp

There are some wires coming out of the center of
your motor. If you clip the GREEN wire it will stop
the regen. Get further enough out from the motor
when you clip it so you have room to tie it back if
you ever need to.

Thanks..soo if I cut the green wire will I have any problems with my golfcart running in the future?? And also will a solid state speed controller disable the regen braking if I put one in?

Yes you can get a controller from a company such as Alltrax, go up in amperage a bit, and have a cart with more power and also lose the regen braking

You can also buy upgrade New and rebuilt Motors which will disable Regen breaking and
add more speed or torque , these are generally less expensive than a new controller !

Silly question, but how do you know if you have Regen braking? I have a 97 Club Car that I just purchased, and obviously I don't know much about it, yet.

If your cart will free wheel going downhill, you don't have regen.

ok..soo can i get pq or emp to disable my regen braking if i give them my motor?
And if i cut the green wire will it mess up anything else with the cart in the future or is it like 100% Safe?

oh cut the darned wire already will ya!! If it doesn't work..take 5 minutes and solder it back together..whats the big deal P.S. let us know if it works
