Default 1996 Club Car DS - Lift question

Just bought a 1996 Club DS electric that I plan to convert to gas and also do a lift. I was looking at the 6" lift from the link shown below. Is this kit a good kit to go with or would another be more recommended?

Thanks in advance for your help.

That shows it fits a different shock than what is on the 96, unless the gas and electric models were fitted with different shocks. My gas 96 DS has a threaded stud on the chassis side and an eyelet on the axle side. According to the 2nd picture, that lift only works with shocks that are threaded studs on both ends.

I ended up going with a 4" jakes lift, and it worked fine for my 96.

I honestly would not go more than 4" lift for a golf cart. Consider your stability issues.

Good feedback, thank you.

I plan to make up a swing arm rear axle setup with a 1" live axle, 10hp tec with a go kart auto/reverse transmission and a Comet 30 series 7" driven. The gear ratio will be 6:1 with 21x11x8 tire and will only be for two people.

From the feedback given, I was looking at different lift options.

Thanks again

Making some progress this week in the garage on the new project. I ended up making a rear swing-arm with coil-over springs for the forward/reverse transmission, bought and installed new 20" tires and a 1" front lift block. As soon as I get it running, I while pass along some pictures and a ride video.

I looked around and these tires/wheels seem liked a good deal for the money and wanted to share the link in case anyone else is also looking for tires for their lifted project.

That’s a hell of deal for wheels and tires!! The rims alone sell for 28-32 bucks on various other sites! I don’t know how they can sell a rim and tire for $20. Crazy

The shipper communicated well regarding shipping info and have bought items from them before, and in all cases a really good seller.

As a note, I did have to take my die grinder around the inside of the bolt holes just a little since the holes seemed a just little tight, but otherwise exactly as listed.

Here is the ride video. Once I set the governor and adjusted the carb it really runs good. Not sure what the top speed is, probably in the high 20s, but it seemed to be geared good and should go through mud holes, snow and off roading like what it was designed for originally.

My hotdog muffler was kind of loud, at least that's what the wife said. I wanted to share this little muffler that I found that works great to silence the smaller motors like the Tecumseh.
