Yes, it is wired to the key switch. I replaced the light switch exactly as I removed the old one. What do you mean by jump the solenoid. Where is it and how do I do this. As I said before, I have never worked on a golf cart, I am a copier/printer technician.

When he's talking about jumping the solenoid, he means you can jump across the solenoid hot terminals to see if the starter/generator will engage. Just be careful if your not used to electrical items. It will more than likely spark.

I would remove the light switch and hook everything back up to original and see what happens. If same problem, then start diagnosing. I know on Yamaha's it is common to blow the main 10amp fuse in this same situation. Not sure about CC's but Yamaha's will blow the main fuse if anything is grounded to the frame. The frames on CC's are aluminum. Where did you ground your lights? You have probably shorted something out, made a bad splice, or do not have something hooked up correctly.

solenoid is located in the black box in front of battery......its round and will have 4 post on it 2 big and 2 small.......the big ones you want to jump across the big ones with key on and hit pedal to see if it will crank over.........don,t start it just see if it will crank........................

since you have checked continuity, of fuse ,
Unplug the Hot side of your Battery +,

Then check continuity across the light switch you just installed,
and across the start switch, make sure they work as both open and closed.

Last check the old switch, if it and the new switch act the same then you
have either a broken wire, loose cinnection or blown fuse double check all wiring.
If you have doubts put the old switch back in .

If you are not the original owner , trace the hot wires and make sure someone has not put an in-line fuse in the line for added protection (that is the way mine is wired )

Hope this helps !!
