I've never had a problem with this style
http://www.ebay.com/itm/360458878890...witem=&vxp=mtr

I have seen the aluminum models warp the plates and begin to suck air many many times...especially in snowmobiles

I would be willing to use a electric pump like shadowman says but what pressure would I need?
if you go with an elec. thats all you need to replace pressure will be fine..................................

I think its just 10%, that is what is standard around here. I should run some premium for a while and see what happens.

sorry, it's hard to answer these question in order, 4vertical's picture thing keeps making me loose focus! the replacement pump came from NAPA and it is a Mikuni aluminum pump just like to original. The good thing is that there is a warranty so I take it in and get a new one but I still have to deal with it not running

Trust me... 4V won't take offense!
I've been watching "Bouncy Ford Girl" for about 5 or 6 years now.... I'm still not sick of her! (and I prefer GM!)

Often times the ethanol will harden the diaphrams in the pumps and they wont move, therefore, wont pump. Take one of the fuel lines off and drip gas down into the pump and let it sit for 5 minutes, often times this will "soften" them up and they will work again. This is very common on riding mowers every spring time when they've sat for 7 months with out being used.
