Default 86 yamaha/ 300 kawasaki engine swap

Hey guys I got a 1986 Yamaha cart. The four wheeler I have is a 2000 kawasaki prarie w/ auto trans. Thinkin about taking both engine and tranny out to go into the cart because the atv plastic and everything else is shot. I need advice on if this might work and if I need to use the rear end from the atv also. Fabrication will be no prob for me. The cart I have also has a blown gas engine. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Yamahas lend themselves very well to conversions. As to whether using the ATV rear, you need to decide how important reverse is. If you need it, stick with the reversing Yamaha rear. Otherwise, it may be easier to use the atv rear once you build a swingarm for it.

It doable and lots of fun if you like to fab.
You will want to try and keep reverse. I used the ATV rear on mine but reverse was in the motor.
I actually cut the middle of my cart frame out, cut the ATV frame in half and dropped the cart frame onto it and tied it together that way.
That way I keep the AtV swing arm and suspension.
