building a trailer out of a golf cart / carryall hitch
I have a carryall 1, trying to determine how I can put a hitch on the cart to pull a small trailer. Any ideas? Tips? Pics?
Also found a rolling frame (no motor, body, seats) on craigslist for $200 OBO. I thought about trying to pick it up for $150 and making a people hauler with it. Chop the front and either make it chariot style, or leave the front and make a tongue so it would be like a wagon. I'm thinking it will be able to haul 2 people or so and a cooler. Has anybody done this? I've seen homemade chariots and small shops that make them, but even if I build it I am not sure how Ill hook to the rear of my carryall. |

Re: building a trailer out of a golf cart / carryall hitch
I've never done it, but seen it done many times. Some of them look really cool with matching wheels, paint, seats, etc. I have considered doing the same, but everytime I get a project cart it ends up getting a vtwin in it lol If I could find one cheap enough I'd certainly do this though. I'd go with the trailer style, so just chop the front off. Kinda like this one.

Ive thought about doing this before... someone in my neighborhood has one.
Just make sure your brakes can handle all the extra load... my DS brakes with 4 people on the cart are already strained enough. |

Re: building a trailer out of a golf cart / carryall hitch
Here is a hitch I purchased on EBay. Slides in the little pocket on the rear of a DS. It was about $23. Made out of pretty heavy stuff. Not sure if the Carry All has that pocket below the bumper but just thought I'd put it out there. Might help someone else.

That slot is exclusive to the DS.
