Still a fair amount of extra bracing to do front and rear... But at least the main shape is together! If it wasn't for the storm and having to work down in a tent, I'd be able to get the front cage braces done, reinforce the subframe where I had to cleave large chunks out of it for the steering to pass through, carve a little bit more out of the spacer on the driver's side so that the throttle will stop sticking wide open, and a few other little odds and ends such as safety chain loops for the rear hitch as well as a front receiver and big ol' honkin' tow hooks with a bit of a brush guard for the plow lights.

Should I worry about an intrusion bar in the windshield area, or is that a little overkill? And should I add an extra pair of bars for the A pillars to tie into both the front upright and the floor of the cage?0925201254.jpg0926202006.jpg0928201818.jpg0924200950a.jpg0928201915.jpg

Been working on wiring mostly the last couple of days. Brake lights just need a switch, waiting on ring terminals for the indicators/hazards, and I am working on getting the reverse switch installed. I'm also still brainstorming how to do the brakes for as cheaply as possible without having to redesign my front end...

IT FINALLY RUNS!!! Had to do some rather extensive modification to the steering, but it runs and drives beautifully. I have also started working on the front bumper, and should have it mounted by the end of the day today.Attachment 210194Attachment 210195Attachment 210196Attachment 210197Attachment 210198

Unfortunately, the throttle sticks when you boot it to disengage the parking brake, so THAT will have to be disabled... Once the bumper is installed, I'll be mounting the "Bunny Burners" and bumper light bar up front, and I'll also be slapping some pods in the rear bumper. I MIGHT be mounting some 6" "bar" flood lights, too, to act as area lights. A friend of mine recently got a Diesel Gator 6x4 and has put a bunch of lights on it... So, being the competitive type that I am, we're having a bit of a pissing contest to see who's portable sun is brightest.

All the forward facing lights are in place, and I have started making the harnesses for them. All that remains is the wiring for the light bar, the horn, the "roof" lights, and rear lights (brake and reverse lights just need the switches wired in, flood and spotlight pods just need mounting). I've also got a barb, adapter, and a washer for the fuel return line into the tank. Hopefully Teflon tape is enough to seal it, but I have some heavy-duty epoxy resin if it isn't.1015201330_HDR.jpg1021201245.jpg

It's really coming together. What are you doing about a front cowl? That DS headlight is a bit lower than the PS.

I'll be using the stock cowl, trimmed to fit. Believe it or not, the head lights are actually at the same height! Been a hot minute since my last post (life getting in the way)... But I have since made quite a bit of progress as far as rigidity and strength go.

Passenger side has a spacer in the rear, driver side does not. I have also slightly simplified the wiring, added a larger steering wheel with a quick release, and FINALLY gotten a linkage to work for the shifter. The parking brake release is what was causing the throttle to stick, so that was removed... Now all that's needed before memorial day weekend is a fuel filler neck for the tank, a switch for the reverse lights, and a deck for the bed. For some reason, the high beams don't work anymore (probably buggered the switch... AGAIN...), and the indicator indicator lights so that I don't forget to turn them off and other people who drive it will know if it's in reverse.

EVENTUALLY, though, I'd like to get a bit more chooch out of the VC 625... Anyone know if it's compatible with Honda/clone performance parts? 28mph is nice, but I'd *LIKE* to go around 40. I wanna beat my buddy's diesel Gator around his track.0515210657.jpg0515210657a.jpg0515210936a.jpg0515211042.jpg

Great Project! What front Shocks are you running? Look like Progressive 512-1019B?
