Default New to carts - need for speed

Hello all, Iím new to the forum and new to golf carts. My wife and I picked up a 2001 club car DS 48v today. Great shape and a great deal but itís a little lacking in the speed department. It goes maybe 12 or 13 mph. Iím not looking for anything insane but some more speed for around the neighborhood would be awesome. With that being said Iím not looking to spend a ton of money either. From my reading itís important to know I donít think itís an IQ model. I donít think that came out until 2002. Any help is appreciated. TIA

12-14 mph is typical speed for a Series cart ( lever F&R and no Run/Tow switch)
You can upsize the controller, solenoid, and cables and get a higher speed motor from Plum Quick Motors online.
