okay, Most of this type of project carts never run, if they do run they are not practical for any use.... in my opinion...

Re: 198? Ezgo w Honda big red 200
got the motor stripped from both the cart and the atc, the honda is shaft driven out the back, I removed the clutch from the cart axle and was left with the splined shaft that is the pinion, planning on lining the two up, connecting them with a short intermediate shaft w/ single universal.
still tons of little details to work out but so far so good, motor fit with tons of room to spare on mock up also pretty sure the cart is 1988 |

All I could find on the Honda 200 Big Red is 16 to 19 Horse power, top speed about 45 MPH, power to weight ratio is not that great with the Heavy Duty body that your cart has. Don't expect alot out of the 200. Happy Carting.

yes im hoping the 200 is going to be enough, havent bothered weighing either and cant find any info on atc rear axle ratio, thinking that the cart axle ratio will be lower, should help some
also keeping a detailed record of all costs encountered, so far im at 0$ and planning on keeping it close |

Re: 198? Ezgo w Honda big red 200
Made some progress today, I'll post up some pics later tonight but started by cutting a chunk of the atc frame for motor mounts, quick and dirty, lengthened the swingarm 4" w some scrap steel I had laying around, built a quick jig and tacked my "custom" driveshaft together, this allowed me to determine exactly how far forward of the axle the motor is gonna sit, once in place I tacked the resurrected section of atc frame to the swingarm, gathered up more scrap pieces and scabricated some strength to the whole works.
Tomorrow will be finishing all my welding including my driveshaft, then can go ahead and bolt the motor to swingarm, attach swingarm, Then onto the long list of little things, I'll keep you posted Sam |

Re: 198? Ezgo w Honda big red 200
due to length needed for the shaft drive setup and for a little vertical clearance i cut off the swingarm brackets, pretty sure the swingarm came off a shorter cart at one point in its life, somebody scabbed some extensions on the mounting tabs to make the wheel line up in the fender, off they came and i scabbed together some new even longer ones
