20mph EZ GO TXT
I just bought a completely stock 2005 EZ GO TXT 36v cart, it currently will run about 13mph, which I assume is normal. I'm not trying to go any crazy speeds, would like to get to around 20mph. What would be the most inexpensive way to get there? I live in south louisiana, So every where I ride is completely flat. Also I am planning on adding lights and a radio, will it be ok to run these accessories off of the battery pack or should I add another deep cycle 12v battery? I hope I am posting this in the right place. Thanks

Re: 20mph EZ GO TXT
Welcome to BGW!
Is your 2005 cart a Series cart or a PDS cart? Easy to tell, if your F/R control is on the dash next to the key, it's a PDS cart. If it's a PDS cart you can get to 18/19 mph for $5 with a "Freedom Chip". As for the 12v items, you can use the pack, but this MAY lead to pack imbalance, which must be managed properly. Other options are a seperate 12v Deep Cycle battery (+ weight), or a 36-12v convertor (limited amp supply). |

Re: 20mph EZ GO TXT
Thanks for the reply, it is a series cart. After seeing how easy it is to speed up a PDS cart I kinda wish I would have spent a little extra and bought that. I was thinking of getting the PQ badit motor upgrade, can anyone tell me what I could expect from that while still keeping everything else stock for now?

Re: 20mph EZ GO TXT
Series cart are just as easy as a PDS over 18 MPH.
You can get a bandit motor built but I doubt you get over 18 MPH out of it. Every one thinks the bandit motor is the answer and that that's all they offer but it'ss not always the case. You can have Robby build you a custom motor. He can build it to fit what you want but it's going to cost more than the Bandit motor. |

Re: 20mph EZ GO TXT
Every 36 volt ezgo series cart i ever put a bandit motor in has seen 21-23. a bandit motor and some 4 gauge wire and you should be more than happy but be careful the speed is addicting.
For your 12 volt accessories i would recomend a 36 to 12 volt reducer so you dont have to worry about charging another battery you will always have power. |
