12 volts is 12 volts. And the more amps the better! If the ATV was a 6 or 9 volt system, it wouldn't work so well...

Re: 1986 trx 200 sx
My cart has 18x9.50 tires and a 11 tooth front 50 tooth back sprocket the 4 wheeler was 42 back 11 front with the weight of the cart thought it might help with a lower gear raito, however if your 200 goes 35 and i have smaller tires and larger rear sprocket. it may be geared to low.hope to take it for a test drive by the weekend and ill find out might have to put a smaller sprocket on the back. Thanks for your input.

Re: 1986 trx 200 sx
you might find that you like a little more low end to it to compensate for the weight of the cart and the possibility of having extra weight from passengers. Id like to see some pics of the ride and mainly the back end.. just curious as to how you did the sprocket conversion.

Re: 1986 trx 200 sx
I cut the differential in half and then cut a piece of plate in a circle about 1/2 inch smaller than the diameter for the sprocket. drilled holes to match the carrier and sprocket then bolted it on and reinforced each side of the diff to the frame this way i still have a open diff. and if i dont like that ill just weld the spiders to lock the rear end. pic comming soon.

Re: 1986 trx 200 sx
Well the little 200 motor hauls this thing pretty good gps at 27mph in 4th probably 1/2 ottle. Dont know the top speed yet i have to get a inline fuel pump tried a primer bulb but it just runs all the gas out and doesnt siphon like i had hoped. does anyone know of a good (cheap) fuel pump i thought about the mr. gasket on amozon for like 37$ but its got some pretty bad reviews. i still have to build a airbox and figure this fuel pump out then for the paint and stereo lights ect. i dont know how any one dares to go much faster in thease little things.

Re: 1986 trx 200 sx
Yes it will. I have a 1975 pargo that left little to be desired in the speed catagory, i managed to make a drive shaft setup on the pre existing golf cart components geared it to my liking and the cart flies. It's and all steel body weighs about 275-300pds without me on it
