Default Lifted cart handling question

Hi all, new to carts, new to this board and at my age proud to be new at something!
I just what ya'all are doing with carts and I want to lift my 06 G22 Yamaha. My question is, how does a 6" lift kit effect the handling of the cart? I want 23" tires and probably wheel spacers for stability. Will that make my cart hard to steer?

In tight spots = a little ... You are going to give up some turning radius but, it will not be harder to turn once you are moving. Hope this makes sense......

Scotty's a big guy on here, so he knows, but I have 23" Carlisle 489's on my G8 with a Jakes single A arm 6" lift, and it streers very easy, like one finger easy! It may steer harder with something like All Trail's, something with a lot of rubber on the ground.
As far as handleing, slow down on corners, it can roll, the spacers will help I'm told, dont have them myself. And welcome to the sight!!
Good luck, Mike

when i lifted mine (only 4") i widened the front end by 4" and it handles GREAT. i can be on pavement at full speed and turn into my parents driveway without lifting off the gas. now their driveway is gravel but it doesnt feel unstable at all either.

I have 81 G1 with 10" lift..moved front out about 2.5" with 2.5" spacers +offset rims 23x10.5x10 and have no problems at all...you might want to slow down a littel on sharp turns though ..

Thanks to you all for the insight. You've made my decision to lift my cart an easy one. It sounds like Wheel spacers are probably a good idea. Is there a general rule of thumb ratio for widening the wheelbase to maintain stability as close to stock as possible?
I have two grandsons high on testosterone and short on reasoning power that I would like to keep in the land of the living.

The best way to keep young boys from wrecking your cart is to keep the key in your pocket! I know how I used to be, and as long as I was afraid of what my parents would do to me, I was a good kid. The handling will be fine as long as they don't do the stupid stuff like decide to turn while going up or down a hill at full speed. If your cart is mostly stock, then they won't have too much speed to mess with, so the worst they can do is tip it over or hit someone/something and bend or break a few legs/arms/heads. Put the fear of Grandpa into them first, then let them know that if anything breaks, they won't get to use the cart for the rest of the summer!

Putting spacers on is a good idea, but over 50" wide, and it won't fit in the bed of a pick-up. With 12" wheels and larger tires you will be at, at least 48 or more inches. Just for your info. If you trailor it, then no problem. They'er alot of fun to work on!! Enjoy! Mike
