Re: 03 club Car DS/pathway rear 4 link project
Well I’m here to share my mishap that I had a few weeks ago, it was pretty bad but think god know one was hurt.
On the evening of st Patrick’s day my 8 year old daughter asked if she can drive the golf cart, it wasn’t her first rodeo, but the first time by her self. I’m equipped with the navitas controllers so I turned everything down so that the acceleration and top speed was very minimal. She was doing great until she was going down a slight down hill, swerved towards a tree, freaked out and hit the acceleration peddle instead of the brake peddle and stuffed the passenger front tire square into a tree. Bent the front lift, broke the passenger shock right off, busted an upper arm heim joint and punched out the head light and broke the bezel. Luckily she was ok, she was harnessed in and when I ran up to her she was nervously laughing. Haha funny now but not at that time. Literally a week in to having it all complete I had to tear the whole front end apart and get back to work. I bent the lift back together and pretty much had to rebuild the whole front frame piece, there was no salvaging the front frame it was done. Luckily it bent from the two frame bolts forward. It took a lot of time getting everything back to where it needed to be. Once I dialed in the front lift portion I then came up with my plan on making my front clip. I pretty much copied the original piece that was in there with 3/8 angle iron that slipped down the frame rails and then another piece of 1/4 angle iron for the front piece, then braced it up with a few other pieces for added structure. From then on I assembled it all and agin made sure everything was square an plumb and sure enough everything came out to spec and was on it! I believe that this is more well built and is way more beefier than stock. Got a new heim and shocks and wrapped it all up. She is back and better than before! |

No not at all, haha it was really my fault not being in the cart with her to guide her. Haha Owell **** happends, main thing know one was hurt and that it could have been way worse by hitting another car. That would have been a double whammy.

Re: 03 club Car DS/pathway rear 4 link project
I remember my sons first attempt, it ended up with an EZGO sitting on its backside with the front wheels resting against a fence LOL. It took a lot of persuading to get him back driving it. Now he drift races and runs fast cars. Who would have guessed.
This was a while ago, but how he got interested in drifting! |
