Default TXT Free 2” lift?

I have a 2000 TXT.
At the moment it has a 5” spindle lift.
The tires are 205/40-17’s
The space between the tires and wheel wells is
too large and I would rather be lower due to
being a street cart.
Has anyone simply placed the leaf springs above
the beam?
It bolts on with 3 bolts per side. Just get longer
bolts and clamp it on top.
The parts (which I probably didnt need) were 14.00.
My plan is to gain the 2” from going above the beam
and going straight spindles. Then maybe contouring the
wheel wells if needed.

It was an easy task. I placed an extra leaf spring plate between the spring and top of beam to be welded later though I doubt it is needed.
The (3) 3 1/2” bolts should be sufficient.
I did gain exactly 2” over where it was.
The drivers side tie rod does touch the leaf with no driver or passengers.
If you just need a little lift, this is cheap

I done it on my workhorse with the extra plate, I cut a piece of intertube to go btwn the plate and axle thinking for movement and not being metal to metal, but think you will be fine.

Had me confused there, thought you were going for lower.

BTW, if the tie-rod is touching now it's going to get worse with people on the cart, the drivers side always sags first, might need new springs.

So far all is working well tires rub the leaf slightly at full lock.

I am trying to lower the cart as it had a 5" RHOX spindle lift when I bought it. I installed new straight spindles but needed just a little clearance. I saw this possibility.

I also noticed the RHOX spindles added substantial width to the wheels stance. My wheels will tuck into the body now like stock but with big tires

Now onto the rear

I was wrong upon further investigation it does touch as it compresses however it is not detectable in the steering at all, weird.

Probably swap them from side to side.

Thanks, I ended up taking the plate off that was between the beam and leaf.
It gave me a little more clearance with the tie rod. My shock is too short and I am waiting for some extensions to arrive.

yep, when I lifted my 2000 txt I used an after market dropped axle with the plates welded on top and bottom, mounted the springs on top w/shock extenders (on top out of sight) and do have a little tie-rod rubbing going on with 2 fat people on the cart... need new springs.

Think you can see it in picture below.
