Thumbs up 2011 RXV Reducer Wiring

Hi guys and Gals,

I have a 2011 RXV 48 volt buggy and am looking to wire a 48-12 volt reducer, a fuse block, and a 4-gang switch unit. Can someone take a look at my diagram and tell me if it's correct? I used information off this forum to draw it. Thanks in advance!!!

Jim

Doesnt look right to me.

It appears the black wire is on the wrong place on the pack. The yellow wire definitely shouldn't be going to that battery anymore. And your B- on your switches goes to a B+ on the fuse block. Please tell us which wire colors do what on the reducer.

You seem to have made a 12v to 12v reducer, with a 24v dead short to spice things up.

Let me try this again. I guess my artistic skills need work too! Lol. Try this diagram. Thanks.

Thanks CGTECH. I couldn't figure out how to post another drawing in a reply to you so I replied to myself. I had the polarity wrong on the battery and the fuse block.

Getting closer.....

Your batteries are now installed backwards, and see other notes.

Ignoring the battery position. The yellow from the reducer is to go to the solenoid instead of the battery positive. I can't see the bottom half of the drawing on your reply. Are the fuse block and switches wired correctly? Red from reducer to positive on block, black on reducer to negative on battery, black on fuse block to ground? Switch red to pos on fuse block, black to neg on fuse block? Just have to fix my battery pack orientation after I have the wiring down. Thanks again.

Yeah. Yellow to solenoid will give you switched power. Thats all you need for power to the reducer. Make sure you use the switched power part of the solenoid.

So I don't need to connect the green wire from the reducer to anything?

Leave the green wire where it's at in the drawing. Or just post a blank version of your drawing (no wires, batteries installed correctly) and I'll draw in the wires for you. And yes, the fuse block looks good now (that's why I said "getting closer").
